People who get professional counselling may do it for mental health related reasons or because of factors going on in their personal life that they feel they are unable to deal with on their own.
The person’s reason for getting counselling does not matter. Those who get mental health help do it because they may benefit from having a trained professional listen to what they are dealing with, and the help they are getting is seen as a huge benefit to them.
Counsellors and therapists are trained individuals who are trained to deal with a range of different mental health issues or personal concerns. Not all therapists are the same, so it is important that the therapist that you decide is one that you feel confident with.
