The new Italian Masonic Renaissance

Throughout the second half of the twentieth century, following a troubled post-war reorganisation, Italian Freemasonry experienced a period of considerable turmoil and confusion. This time of internal division and misunderstanding has been aptly characterised as the 'Garden of Un-reason'.

However, at 15.00hrs on the 13th of October, 2005, under the auspices of the Masonic High Council for England, Wales the Channel Islands and Districts Overseas - Regular Grand Lodge of England, and of the Masonic High Council for Italy, a considerable number of Brethren, dedicated to the values of Freedom, Brotherhood and Tolerance, came together to establish the Constitution of the - The Grande Oriente Italiano Federale GOIF.

Having found the path out of the garden of past divisions through the application of Reason and Fraternal love the Regular Grand Orient of Italy Federal has proved itself worthy to be recognised as the Cornerstone of the Cathedral of the new Italian Masonic Renaissance.

The Masonic High Council

"La Gran Loggia Regolare d'Inghilterra ricorda a tutti i membri della corporazione che dovrebbero fare molta attenzione prima di diventare membri di qualsiasi organizzazione che pretende di considerarsi massonica. Se non si è sicuri si dovrebbe produrre una domanda scritta al Gran Segretario. Ci sono alcune corporazione massoniche che si sono auto proclamate che non rispettano questi standard, per esempio non richiedono la fede in un Essere Supremo, o che permettono o incoraggiano i loro membri a partecipare a manifestazione politiche. Alcune di queste corporazioni massoniche autoproclamate sono diventate poco più che associazioni sociali. Queste corporazioni sono riconosciute irregolari dalla Gran Loggia Regolare d'Inghilterra e i contatti massonici con loro devono essere evitati."
